Lockport:

  • 10:00AM - Leave Amherst Marina traveling East.
  • 11:30 to 12:30PM - Lock through Lock 35 and Lock 34.
  • Pass under Adams Street and Exchange Street Lift Bridges.
  • Tie up at Ghoele Municipal Marina (Widewater).
  • Picnic lunch in park or eat at Widewater Drive in.
  • 2:00PM - Return to East base of Lock 34 to tie up.
  • Visit Lockport Museum and Old Four Lock Slide.
  • 2:45PM - Check with Lockmaster before re-entering Locks heading West.
  • 5:00PM - Return to Amherst Marina.

    • Middleport:

  • 9:00AM - Leave Amherst Marina traveling East.
  • 10:30 to 11:30AM - Lock through Lock 35 and Lock 34.
  • 12:00PM - Gasport Bridge.
  • 12:30PM - Arrive Middleport. Tie up is West of Bridge.
  • Eat lunch at Basket Factory or picnic.
  • 1:30PM - begin Westward journey allowing 1/2 hour travel time to Gasport then 45 minutes to Lock 34.
  • 2:45PM - Arrive at Lock 34 for Locking through.
  • 5:00PM - Return to Amherst Marina.

    • The above times are only suggested and approximate at best. The general attitude to use on the Erie Canal is to relax and enjoy the sense of being on the water and in the country. The Bridge Operators and Lockmasters will do their best to keep you on schedule. These folks are your best friends on the waterway.
